Six month well child check up

Ok, we had our six month visit to the pediatrician yesterday and here are the stats:

  • Length: 26 3/4 inches (75% percentile)
  • Weight: 17lbs 6oz (75% percentile)
  • Head Circumference: 43 1/2 (75% percentile)

The percentiles mean that if looking at 100 babies with Alex's b-day, Alex would be longer, heavier and have a bigger melon than 75 of them.

She did very well with her shots and only cried for a short period of time. The doctor thinks Alex is tracking well for her age and commented that she is very proportional all things considered.

Here are some other interesting facts:

  • still not crawling, but can drag/roll herself to where she wants to go or to get a toy
  • mastered rice cereal and in honor of Fat Tuesday started oatmeal
  • will sit in the Bumbo seat to eat
  • continues to eat about three, 4oz bottles at daycare and has about 3T of cereal early in the morning and after work
  • has only woken up one time in the night for the last few nights (goes to bed between 7 & 8 and is up around1:30 or 2am for a feeding and then sleeps until 6:30 on weekdays) the doctor warned us that if she starts to pork out, we will have to cut out the night time feedings
  • tried sweet peas for the first time and was not a fan - see video below for the gag reflex
