OK, big news in Columbia - the ECV was successful! Very painful, but successful - I think some wires got crossed on whether or not I wanted pain meds (Demerol), because no one asked me if I wanted it. The doctor must have assumed I would ask for it.....whatev.
The whole thing was over in about 2-3 minutes, but it felt longer. Michael was at the head of the bed, I had 1 resident on the left pushing up, 1 doctor on the right pushing down and 1 resident at the foot of the bed monitoring the procedure via ultrasound.
So, for now, we are pleased and everyone is A-OK. The flipping must have stirred up the baby because I had some contractions after the procedure, but could not feel them. Weird!! They were monitoring it via a belt you wear across your stomach.
No dilation though (phew!) - so Baby Hardy appears to be hanging in for the long haul. Thanks to all for your thoughts, calls and prayers!
